Welcome to the Geriatric Nursing Care course at Quality Care Training Institute (QCTI)! In this specialized program, we delve deep into the unique needs of elderly individuals, providing comprehensive training to equip you with the skills and knowledge required to deliver high-quality care to this demographic. This is an additional 3-month programme for person who already possess general health care certification. If participants do not possess this, the programme will be for 1 yr and 3 months and will only be offered once there are enough participants for the cohort of 10 – 20 participants.
By the end of this course, you will emerge as a competent and compassionate geriatric nursing caregiver, equipped to make a positive difference in the lives of elderly individuals and contribute to the advancement of quality geriatric care practices. Understanding Aging Process
Gain insights into the physiological and psychological changes associated with aging to better comprehend the unique needs of elderly patients.
Geriatric Assessment Skills
Develop proficiency in conducting comprehensive geriatric assessments to identify specific health issues, functional limitations, and social support needs.
Person Centered Care
Learn the principles of person-centered care to tailor interventions and care plans according to individual preferences, values, and goals.
Management of Chronic Conditions
Acquire knowledge and skills in managing common chronic conditions prevalent among the elderly, such as arthritis, hypertension, and diabetes.
