Academic advisement
Academic advisement is available for all students. It is done if the student is having difficulties in one or more of the following areas:
- Courses: failure in one or more courses, or any other matter that is affecting the student's grades
- Attendance
- Ability to complete the course, or deferring training
- Personal issues
- Financial issues
If it is identified that a student may be experiencing a mental health or emotional problem, they are referred for counselling, internally or externally.
Career counselling
Career counselling is done for students who are not sure which programme to undertake to meet their individual needs. It is aimed at helping them make a proper decision about their career choices. This service also helps students align themselves with potential job opportunities after training.
The QCTI team has assisted over 200 persons in these areas, guiding them along their career paths and aligning them with specific jobs that meet their needs.
